Dog Swimming for Preston Owners
Preston doesn't have a dog pool of its own on our doorstep, so a lot of city owners make the short run out to us instead. Our pool sits at Pompian Brow Farm in Bretherton, roughly seven miles south-west of the city centre as the crow flies, and most Preston visitors tell us the drive takes around twenty minutes.
Because every booking is private, you won't be sharing the water with strangers' dogs. You get the whole pool for forty minutes — you, your dog, and if you choose it, one of our swim coaches.
City living often means pavement walks and busy parks. A swim gives a Preston dog a full-body workout without pounding joints on tarmac, and the water is kept at 28–32°C so even a cautious first-timer can relax.
Planning the trip out from Preston
Leave a little slack for traffic at rush hour so you're not arriving flustered — a calm owner makes for a calm dog on the ramp. There's free parking on site, so no hunting for a space once you arrive.
We have a dog field for a toilet break before the swim, plus toilets for humans. Pop an old blanket or crate liner in the car; even after our drying area your dog will be a little damp on the way back into town.
Which session Preston owners tend to book
If you've never swum a dog before, the Swim Coach Session (£40, one dog) is the gentlest start: a coach is in the water guiding your dog with toys while you watch from the side.
Confident swimmers often move on to Owner In Pool at £35, where you get in with them. We lend wetsuits and there's a changing room, so you only need to bring a towel.

How long does it take to drive from Preston?

Can I bring two dogs from the same Preston household?
Yes. Owner In Pool is £35 for one dog, £55 for two and £70 for three, all in the same private 40-minute slot.
Do I need a vet referral to swim?
Not for recreational swimming. If your dog has an injury or a chronic condition, please check with your vet that swimming is suitable first.
