A tripod's remaining legs work harder for the rest of their life. Water is the one place they can exercise hard without adding to that load — and it is far easier for a three-legged dog to move well in than on land.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
What the first session looks like
Assisted entry, jacket fitted, coach supporting through the first lengths while we see how the dog balances in the water.

RECOMMENDED SESSION
We'd start with the Swim Coach session
Fortnightly maintenance suits most; weekly during an early conditioning block.
Owners commonly report better stamina on walks once the core and remaining limbs are properly conditioned.
Before you book
Written vet clearance is needed after amputation, and the surgical site must be fully healed. Tripods tire faster than they let on, so we keep sessions short.
For three-legged & amputee dogs we need written clearance from your vet or surgeon before the first session.

Can a three-legged dog swim?
Most can, and many swim very well with a jacket to keep them level. The first session tells us a lot about how they balance.
How soon after amputation?
Only once the wound is fully healed and your vet has cleared it in writing.
