We are a canine swimming and hydro pool, not a veterinary practice — this page explains how our sessions fit alongside the care your vet provides.

Why warm water suits this problem

A private, warm, controlled pool is the opposite of a cold river with an unknown bottom. Nervous dogs can meet water on their own terms, in stages, with nobody else in the building.

HOW IT WORKS

What the water is actually doing

Private sessions — no audience, no other dogs, no pressure

Gradual ramp entry so the dog chooses each step

Warm water removes the shock that makes cold-water first attempts go badly

Coach in the water to support the back end, which is what most panicking dogs are missing

RECOMMENDED SESSION

We'd start with the Swim Coach session

Weekly at first — confidence builds on repetition, and long gaps undo progress.

Typical pattern: session one on the ramp, session two a few supported metres, session three swimming with the coach alongside. Some dogs take longer, and that is normal.

What the first session looks like

Often no swimming at all. Sniffing the pool, standing on the ramp, treats, and out again. That is a successful first session for a frightened dog.

We never throw a dog in, and we never make a frightened dog swim. If a dog is genuinely distressed we stop and try a different approach next time.
