DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
Why Walks Alone Aren't Enough for Croston Dogs
Repetitive Exercise Injuries
Dogs who only walk or run develop overuse injuries. Swimming provides cross-training that builds balanced strength and prevents strain.
Cold Weather Stops Play
When Croston weather turns cold and wet, outdoor exercise drops off. Our heated indoor pool means fitness never stops.
Nowhere Safe to Swim
Rivers and lakes near Croston can be dangerous — strong currents, blue-green algae, hidden debris. Your dog deserves a safe, controlled environment.
Expensive vet bills and medication only manage symptoms. Swimming addresses the root cause.

WE HEAR YOU
What Croston Dog Owners Want to Know
"What if my dog doesn't like it?"
In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.
"Is it really better than outdoor swimming?"
Night and day. Our pool is heated to 28–32°C, filtered and treated for hygiene, has no currents or hidden hazards, and is available all year round regardless of weather. Plus it's completely private — no other dogs to stress yours.
"How do I know which session type is right?"
Owner In Pool if you want to swim with your dog. Group Classes for social, confident dogs. Swim Coach for nervous dogs, rehabilitation, or therapeutic sessions. Weighty Woofers for weight management. We're happy to recommend — just ask.
"Can my dog swim if they're on medication?"
Usually yes — but always mention any medication when booking. Some medications may need timing adjustments around swimming. We'll check with you and advise accordingly.
WHAT DOG OWNERS SAY
Don't Just Take Our Word for It
"First time bringing our rescue greyhound. Didn't think he'd take to water but the staff were incredible — so calm and patient. He was swimming within 10 minutes!"
Michaela T.
Greyhound, 5 years
"Brilliant for our working cocker who does agility. The swimming keeps her fit, builds strength in muscle groups that agility alone doesn't work, and she adores it."
James H.
Working Cocker Spaniel, 4 years
"After our dog's cruciate surgery, the swimming sessions here were a game-changer. She's back to her old self. Can't recommend it enough to anyone in Lancashire."
Mark P.
Border Collie, 6 years
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Croston Dog Swimming — Your Questions Answered
Do you have changing facilities?
We have a drying area for dogs and space for you to change if you've been in the pool during an Owner In Pool session. We also have towels available.
Do you cater for older dogs from Croston?
Older dogs often benefit the most from swimming. The warm water eases stiff joints and the buoyancy means they can exercise without pain. We've had dogs well into their teens swimming with us regularly.
Are there any dogs you can't accept?
We welcome all breeds and ages from 12 weeks. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Dogs with open wounds, infectious conditions, or severe uncontrolled aggression may need to wait or have a vet consultation first.
What are the health benefits of dog swimming?
Swimming provides cardiovascular fitness, muscle building, weight management, joint rehabilitation, mental stimulation, and improved range of motion — all with zero impact on joints. It's the most complete exercise available for dogs.
What are your opening hours?
We're open 7 days a week, 9am–8pm. Evening and weekend slots are available so Croston dog owners can fit sessions around work and family.
Do you do gift vouchers for dog owners in Croston?
Yes. Vouchers are a popular present for Croston dog owners — birthdays, Christmas, or a new puppy in the family. Call 07359 881320 to arrange one.
Is Croston actually closer than the next nearest pool?
From most Croston postcodes you're around 5 minutes to us via the A49. The next nearest comparable heated dog pool is materially further — and rarely as quiet or as private.
