RECOGNISE THE SIGNS?

Hidden Limits of Exercise for Crowton Dogs

Stiff Joints & Slowing Down

Older dogs in Crowton often slow down because walks hurt their joints. Swimming gives them exercise without the pain.

Weight Creeping Up

Over half of UK dogs are overweight. If your dog's waistline has disappeared, swimming burns 5x more calories than walking — with zero joint impact.

Bored & Under-Exercised

A tired dog is a happy dog. If your Crowton pup is destructive, anxious, or pulling on walks, they're probably not getting enough exercise.

Expensive vet bills and medication only manage symptoms. Swimming addresses the root cause.

FOR CROWTON DOGS

What a Typical Session Looks Like for a Crowton Dog

You arrive at our Bretherton site after a 35-minute drive from Crowton, park metres from the pool door, and we'll meet you and your dog at reception. New dogs get a short, calm introduction to the pool environment before anything else happens.

Once your dog is comfortable, we walk them down the gentle ramp into 28–32°C water. The full 30 minutes belongs to your dog — no shared sessions, no clock-watching. We finish with a towel-off, a debrief, and you're on your way.

Completely Private Sessions

No crowded pools, no stressed dogs — just your dog getting our full attention in a calm, controlled environment.

Crystal-Clear Water

Our water is continuously filtered and treated to the highest standards. No mud, no algae, no hidden hazards.

Free Parking On Site

COMMON CONCERNS

Crowton Owners Ask — We Answer Straight

"What if my dog has health issues?"

We cater for all conditions — arthritis, hip dysplasia, obesity, post-surgery recovery, and more. We'll ask about your dog's health before their first session and tailor everything accordingly. We welcome vet referrals too.

"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"

It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.

"Is the water clean and safe?"

Our water is continuously filtered and treated to exceed hygiene standards. It's crystal-clear at all times — far cleaner and safer than any river, lake, or outdoor dog pool you'll find near Crowton.

"Is swimming tiring for dogs?"

Very! 30 minutes of swimming is equivalent to about 90 minutes of walking in terms of energy expenditure. Most dogs sleep soundly on the drive home to Crowton and are calm all evening.

Dogs with open wounds, active skin infections, untreated ear infections, or uncontrolled seizures should not swim until cleared by a vet. We're happy to advise if you're unsure about your dog's suitability.

Can I watch my dog swim?

Absolutely. You can watch from poolside during Swim Coach sessions, or jump in yourself during Owner In Pool sessions. Many Crowton owners love watching their dog's progress from week to week.

Do I need to bring anything for my dog's swim?

Just your dog and a towel! We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. We also have a drying area on site so your dog can dry off before the journey home to Crowton.

How long is each swimming session?

Sessions are 30 minutes of pool time. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first visit so we can complete a quick health assessment.

We regularly swim Great Danes, Newfoundlands, Irish Wolfhounds, and other giant breeds. Our pool is designed to accommodate dogs of all sizes with plenty of room to move.

Do you cater for older dogs from Crowton?
