THE PROBLEM
What Most Hurst Green Dog Owners Don't Realise
Limited Off-Lead Space
Not every Hurst Green dog has access to safe off-lead fields. Swimming provides intensive exercise in a secure, enclosed environment.
Separation Anxiety
Dogs who don't burn enough energy develop anxiety. A 30-minute swim leaves dogs calm, content, and ready to relax at home.
Nervous Around Water
Many dogs in Lancashire have never been introduced to water properly. Our gentle approach builds lifelong water confidence.
Expensive vet bills and medication only manage symptoms. Swimming addresses the root cause.

FOR HURST GREEN DOGS
How Often Should Your Hurst Green Dog Swim?
Most dogs from Hurst Green settle into a weekly or fortnightly rhythm. Hydrotherapy and Weighty Woofers cases lean weekly. Fitness and fun-focused regulars often run fortnightly. There's no single right answer — only what fits your dog and your schedule.
The biggest mistake is treating swimming as a one-off treat. Real benefits — muscle, weight loss, joint comfort, behaviour — build with consistency, not intensity. A regular Hurst Green swimmer outpaces an occasional one every time.
Open 7 Days a Week
Morning, afternoon, and evening sessions available 7 days a week — flexible enough to fit around any schedule.
Year-Round Availability
Rain, snow, or heatwave — our indoor heated pool means your dog's exercise never depends on the weather.
Mental Stimulation
The sensory experience of swimming — water pressure, temperature, movement — provides intense mental engagement alongside physical exercise.

YOUR QUESTIONS
Everything Hurst Green Dog Owners Ask Us
"What if my dog doesn't like it?"
In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.
"Can I bring more than one dog from Hurst Green?"
Yes! Our Owner In Pool sessions welcome up to 4 dogs. Multi-dog households from Hurst Green love bringing all their dogs for a group swim. Same price per session regardless of dog numbers.
"How do I know which session type is right?"
Owner In Pool if you want to swim with your dog. Group Classes for social, confident dogs. Swim Coach for nervous dogs, rehabilitation, or therapeutic sessions. Weighty Woofers for weight management. We're happy to recommend — just ask.
"What if my dog is scared of water?"
We specialise in nervous swimmers. Our gentle ramp entry lets dogs walk in at their own pace, the warm water is inviting rather than shocking, and our experienced team has helped hundreds of first-timers. Most dogs are swimming happily by the end of session one.
WHAT DOG OWNERS SAY
Trusted by Dog Owners Across Lancashire
"Our vet recommended hydrotherapy after hip surgery. The difference after 6 weeks of swimming was incredible — muscle mass back, no more limping. Worth the drive from Hurst Green."
Steve M.

"Our Weimaraner has more energy than we can handle with walks alone. Swimming has been transformational — she's calmer at home and actually settles in the evenings now."
Tom & Kelly J.

"The owner-in-pool session is such a unique experience. Swimming with my golden retriever in warm water — it's our favourite thing to do together."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything You Need to Know
How does the pricing work?
Owner In Pool and Group Classes are £35 per 30-minute session. Swim Coach and Weighty Woofers are £40. No membership fees, no contracts — just book when you want.
Do you have experience with large breeds?
We regularly swim Great Danes, Newfoundlands, Irish Wolfhounds, and other giant breeds. Our pool is designed to accommodate dogs of all sizes with plenty of room to move.
Do you accept dogs with disabilities?
Yes — we welcome dogs with physical disabilities, amputations, and mobility challenges. Swimming is often the best exercise for these dogs because water supports their body and allows free movement.
What's the difference between Swim Coach and Owner In Pool?
In Owner In Pool sessions, you get in the water with your dog. In Swim Coach sessions, one of our trained team members is in the pool guiding your dog — ideal for rehabilitation, nervous dogs, or when you'd rather watch from poolside.
Will my dog be the only one in the pool?
Yes. Every session is fully private. Your Hurst Green dog never meets another dog during their swim, which is why we're a popular choice for reactive or anxious dogs.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes — sessions are by appointment only to ensure every dog gets private pool time. We recommend booking at least a few days ahead, especially for weekend sessions. Call 07359 881320 or use our online form.
Can my dog swim if they've been neutered recently?
We recommend waiting at least 14 days after suture removal and getting the all-clear from your vet before swimming. The wound must be fully healed before entering the pool.
