IS YOUR DOG STRUGGLING?

Hidden Limits of Exercise for Singleton Dogs

Behavioural Problems at Home

Chewing, barking, digging — these are often signs of under-exercise. Dogs from Singleton who swim regularly are calmer and better behaved.

Nowhere Safe to Swim

Rivers and lakes near Singleton can be dangerous — strong currents, blue-green algae, hidden debris. Your dog deserves a safe, controlled environment.

Bored & Under-Exercised

A tired dog is a happy dog. If your Singleton pup is destructive, anxious, or pulling on walks, they're probably not getting enough exercise.

Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

SERVING SINGLETON, LANCASHIRE

What a Typical Session Looks Like for a Singleton Dog

You arrive at our Bretherton site after a 20-minute drive from Singleton, park metres from the pool door, and we'll meet you and your dog at reception. New dogs get a short, calm introduction to the pool environment before anything else happens.

Once your dog is comfortable, we walk them down the gentle ramp into 28–32°C water. The full 30 minutes belongs to your dog — no shared sessions, no clock-watching. We finish with a towel-off, a debrief, and you're on your way.

Free Parking On Site

Pull up right next to the pool entrance at Pompian Brow Farm. No parking charges, no long walks from the car.

Heated to 28–32°C

Our pool maintains a therapeutic temperature all year round — warm, clean, and comfortable for every breed and age.

Year-Round Availability

Rain, snow, or heatwave — our indoor heated pool means your dog's exercise never depends on the weather.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Concerns? Let Us Put Your Mind at Rest

"Is it really better than outdoor swimming?"

Night and day. Our pool is heated to 28–32°C, filtered and treated for hygiene, has no currents or hidden hazards, and is available all year round regardless of weather. Plus it's completely private — no other dogs to stress yours.

"Can my dog swim if they're on medication?"

Usually yes — but always mention any medication when booking. Some medications may need timing adjustments around swimming. We'll check with you and advise accordingly.

"What if my dog can't swim at all?"

Many dogs who visit us have never swum before — that's perfectly fine. We use life jackets, gradual ramp entry, and gentle encouragement. Swimming is a natural instinct for most dogs; they just need the right introduction.

"Do you offer discounts for regular swimmers from Singleton?"

Yes — we offer multi-session packages at a discount for regular swimmers. Ask about our package deals when you book. Many Singleton dog owners find monthly packages the best value.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions From Singleton Owners

How often should my dog swim?

For general fitness, once a week is brilliant. For weight loss or rehabilitation, twice a week is recommended. Even fortnightly sessions make a noticeable difference.

Is there parking at the pool?

Yes — free parking right by the entrance at Pompian Brow Farm, Bretherton, PR26 9AQ. Easy access from Singleton.

Is the pool available for birthday parties or special occasions?

We love celebrating milestones! Contact us about special occasion bookings. Many Singleton dog owners book celebration swims for birthdays or adoption anniversaries.

Is swimming better than walking for dogs?

Swimming burns approximately 5 times more calories than walking and builds muscle 15 times more efficiently — all with zero joint impact. It's particularly beneficial for overweight, arthritic, or recovering dogs.

Will my dog be the only one in the pool?

Yes. Every session is fully private. Your Singleton dog never meets another dog during their swim, which is why we're a popular choice for reactive or anxious dogs.

How do I book a session from Singleton?

You can call us on 07359 881320, fill in the enquiry form on this page, or email info@westlancsk9splash.co.uk. We're open 7 days a week, 9am–8pm.

Are there any health conditions that prevent swimming?

Dogs with open wounds, active skin infections, untreated ear infections, or uncontrolled seizures should not swim until cleared by a vet. We're happy to advise if you're unsure about your dog's suitability.
