DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
What Most Whitefield Dog Owners Don't Realise
Joints Under Strain
Every extra kilo puts 4x more force on your dog's joints. Walking an overweight dog can actually cause more harm — swimming removes that strain entirely.
Vet's Weight Warning
If your vet in Whitefield has mentioned your dog's weight, our Weighty Woofers programme is the most effective and enjoyable solution available.
Exercise Makes Things Worse
Overweight dogs who walk too much damage their joints. It's a cruel catch-22 — they need exercise but can't exercise safely on land. Swimming solves this.
Expensive vet bills and medication only manage symptoms. Swimming addresses the root cause.

FOR WHITEFIELD DOGS
What 'Safe Weight Loss' Looks Like in the Pool
Crash plans don't work for dogs and neither do brutal walks. We aim for around 1–2% bodyweight loss per week — slow enough to be sustainable, fast enough to be visible. Swimming makes that pace easy without the joint damage that aggressive walking causes.
Owners from Whitefield usually see the first visible change around week 4 and the first big mood/energy shift around week 8. From there it compounds — fitter dog, more capable, longer walks, faster losses. The starting point matters most, and it's the pool.
Safe for Heavy Dogs
Water supports 90% of body weight, making swimming comfortable for even the heaviest dogs who struggle on land.
Reduced Medication Need
Weight loss through swimming often allows vets to reduce or eliminate weight-related medications.
Enjoyable Exercise
Dogs love swimming! Unlike restrictive exercise regimes, our sessions are genuinely fun — your dog won't know they're working out.

WHY DOG OWNERS VISIT US
What Whitefield Dog Owners Come to Us For
Breed-Specific Weight Management
Labs, Beagles, and Spaniels are genetically predisposed to weight gain. Swimming keeps them in shape without joint strain.

Combined Weight & Joint Care
Overweight dogs often develop joint problems. Swimming addresses both simultaneously — losing weight while protecting joints.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Common Questions From Whitefield
"What if my dog doesn't like it?"
In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.
"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"
It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.
"Can my dog swim if they're on medication?"
Usually yes — but always mention any medication when booking. Some medications may need timing adjustments around swimming. We'll check with you and advise accordingly.
"How does this compare to a vet hydrotherapy centre?"
Our sessions are £35-40 compared to £50-80+ at vet hydrotherapy centres. Our pool is the same quality — heated, filtered, purpose-built. For dogs needing rehabilitation, we're happy to work alongside your vet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common Questions From Whitefield Owners
My vet says my dog needs to lose weight — can you help?
Absolutely. Our Weighty Woofers programme is designed for exactly this. Many vets across Greater Manchester recommend us as the exercise component of their weight management plans.
Will my dog actually enjoy this if they're not a swimmer?
Almost every overweight dog from Whitefield becomes a willing swimmer within 2–3 sessions. The water removes the joint pain that's been making movement miserable on land.
Will swimming help my dog's joints as well as their weight?
Absolutely. Swimming simultaneously reduces weight (removing joint strain) and builds muscle (supporting joints). It's a double benefit that makes it the gold standard exercise for overweight dogs with joint issues.
Do you track my dog's weight?
Yes — every Weighty Woofers session includes a free weigh-in. We track progress over time and celebrate milestones. You'll see measurable results in your dog's weight and body condition.
How far is Weighty Woofers from Whitefield?
We're just 30 minutes from Whitefield. Our Weighty Woofers programme at £40 per session includes a free weigh-in and tailored swimming — outstanding value compared to vet-led weight programmes.
Is swimming better than walking for overweight dogs?
Far better. Walking puts 4x extra force on joints for every extra kilo — so overweight dogs walking are actually damaging their joints. Swimming removes that impact entirely while burning far more calories.
Realistically, how much weight can my dog lose?
Combined with diet, dogs from Whitefield typically lose 0.5–1% of body weight per week safely. We've helped some lose 20%+ of starting weight over a structured 12-week block.
