THE PROBLEM
What's Holding Your Lydiate Dog Back?
Limited Off-Lead Space
Not every Lydiate dog has access to safe off-lead fields. Swimming provides intensive exercise in a secure, enclosed environment.
Nowhere Safe to Swim
Rivers and lakes near Lydiate can be dangerous — strong currents, blue-green algae, hidden debris. Your dog deserves a safe, controlled environment.
Separation Anxiety
Dogs who don't burn enough energy develop anxiety. A 30-minute swim leaves dogs calm, content, and ready to relax at home.
Expensive vet bills and medication only manage symptoms. Swimming addresses the root cause.

GOOD TO KNOW
What to Know Before Your First Visit From Lydiate
"What ages of dog do you accept?"
From 12-week-old puppies (after second vaccination) to senior dogs of any age. We adjust every session to your dog's ability. Some of our most enthusiastic swimmers are well into their teens!
"How much does it cost?"
Sessions start from just £35 for Owner In Pool and Group Classes, and £40 for Swim Coach and Weighty Woofers. Compare that to a vet hydrotherapy session at £50–80+ and you're getting outstanding value.
"Is it really better than outdoor swimming?"
Night and day. Our pool is heated to 28–32°C, filtered and treated for hygiene, has no currents or hidden hazards, and is available all year round regardless of weather. Plus it's completely private — no other dogs to stress yours.
"Is the pool big enough for large breeds?"
Absolutely. We welcome everything from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. The pool has adjustable depths and ample space for even the largest breeds to swim comfortably.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I bring for my dog's first swim?
Just your dog and a towel — we supply everything else including life jackets and toys. If you're joining in an Owner In Pool session, bring swimwear too. We have a drying area on site.
Are there any health conditions that prevent swimming?
Dogs with open wounds, active skin infections, untreated ear infections, or uncontrolled seizures should not swim until cleared by a vet. We're happy to advise if you're unsure about your dog's suitability.
How wet will my car be on the way back to Lydiate?
Hardly at all. We have a dedicated drying area on site and most dogs are touch-dry before they leave. Bring a towel for the back seat just in case.
Is the pool available for birthday parties or special occasions?
We love celebrating milestones! Contact us about special occasion bookings. Many Lydiate dog owners book celebration swims for birthdays or adoption anniversaries.
Do Merseyside vets recommend your pool?
Yes — veterinary practices across Merseyside refer patients to us regularly for post-surgery rehabilitation, arthritis management, and weight loss. We're happy to work alongside your vet to support your dog's health.
How long is each swimming session?
Sessions are 30 minutes of pool time. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first visit so we can complete a quick health assessment.
Can I swim with my dog?
Absolutely! Our Owner In Pool sessions let you get in the water with your dog. It's a fantastic bonding experience. Just bring your swimwear and a towel — we supply everything else.
