WHY DOGS NEED MORE
Hidden Limits of Exercise for Weeton Dogs
Post-Surgery Blues
Recovering dogs need to rebuild muscle, but too much walking risks re-injury. Swimming is the vet-recommended solution.
Stiff Joints & Slowing Down
Older dogs in Weeton often slow down because walks hurt their joints. Swimming gives them exercise without the pain.
Nervous Around Water
Many dogs in Lancashire have never been introduced to water properly. Our gentle approach builds lifelong water confidence.
Expensive vet bills and medication only manage symptoms. Swimming addresses the root cause.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS
Weeton Owners Ask — We Answer Straight
"Is it really better than outdoor swimming?"
Night and day. Our pool is heated to 28–32°C, filtered and treated for hygiene, has no currents or hidden hazards, and is available all year round regardless of weather. Plus it's completely private — no other dogs to stress yours.
"Is swimming tiring for dogs?"
Very! 30 minutes of swimming is equivalent to about 90 minutes of walking in terms of energy expenditure. Most dogs sleep soundly on the drive home to Weeton and are calm all evening.
"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"
It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.
"Can my dog swim if they're on medication?"
Usually yes — but always mention any medication when booking. Some medications may need timing adjustments around swimming. We'll check with you and advise accordingly.
WHAT DOG OWNERS SAY
What Lancashire Dog Owners Tell Us
"We've been coming from Weeton for six months now. Our overweight pug has lost 2kg and gained so much energy. The team here really know their stuff."
Lucy & Ben A.
Pug, 6 years
"Brought our 14-week-old puppy for a first swim and the staff were amazing. So gentle and patient. She loved it and now we go every fortnight."
Amy L.
Miniature Dachshund, 14 weeks
"Brilliant for our working cocker who does agility. The swimming keeps her fit, builds strength in muscle groups that agility alone doesn't work, and she adores it."
James H.
Working Cocker Spaniel, 4 years
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the pool hygienic?
Our pool water is continuously filtered and treated to the highest standards. We maintain strict hygiene protocols and the water is crystal-clear at all times. It's far cleaner than any river, lake, or outdoor pool.
How wet will my car be on the way back to Weeton?
Hardly at all. We have a dedicated drying area on site and most dogs are touch-dry before they leave. Bring a towel for the back seat just in case.
What are the health benefits of dog swimming?
Swimming provides cardiovascular fitness, muscle building, weight management, joint rehabilitation, mental stimulation, and improved range of motion — all with zero impact on joints. It's the most complete exercise available for dogs.
How long is each swimming session?
Sessions are 30 minutes of pool time. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first visit so we can complete a quick health assessment.
Do you do gift vouchers for dog owners in Weeton?
Yes. Vouchers are a popular present for Weeton dog owners — birthdays, Christmas, or a new puppy in the family. Call 07359 881320 to arrange one.
Can aggressive dogs swim?
Every session is completely private — your dog will never encounter other dogs. If your dog is reactive or anxious around other animals, our private sessions are the perfect solution.
Do Lancashire vets recommend your pool?
