COMMON CONCERNS
Why Quernmore Walks Alone Aren't Enough Anymore
No Social Swimming Options
Finding controlled, supervised swimming for dogs near Quernmore is difficult. Our purpose-built facility fills that gap perfectly.
Stiff Joints & Slowing Down
Older dogs in Quernmore often slow down because walks hurt their joints. Swimming gives them exercise without the pain.
Repetitive Exercise Injuries
Dogs who only walk or run develop overuse injuries. Swimming provides cross-training that builds balanced strength and prevents strain.
Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

WHY CHOOSE US
Why Quernmore Owners Drive Past Other Pools to Reach Us
There are larger pools elsewhere in Lancashire, and some that are closer to certain parts of Quernmore. What brings owners to Bretherton is the combination — purpose-built for dogs, properly heated, genuinely private, and run by people who know each regular's dog by name.
Once you've experienced a fully private, fully focused 30-minute session, shared or rushed alternatives feel like a step backwards. That's the most common piece of feedback we get from Quernmore dog owners who tried elsewhere first.
Expert Supervision
Every session is supervised by our experienced team who know dogs, understand behaviour, and prioritise safety.
Year-Round Availability
Rain, snow, or heatwave — our indoor heated pool means your dog's exercise never depends on the weather.
Full-Body Workout

WE HEAR YOU
Everything Quernmore Dog Owners Ask Us
"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"
It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.
"What if my dog doesn't like it?"
In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.
"Is one session enough to see results?"
Most dogs show visible improvement in mood and energy after just one session. For therapeutic or weight-loss goals, we recommend weekly sessions for 6–8 weeks to see transformative results.
"Can I get in the pool with my dog?"
Yes! Our Owner In Pool sessions let you swim alongside your dog. It's a bonding experience like no other. We provide everything you need — just bring your swimwear and a towel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Common Questions About Dog Swimming Near Quernmore
Do I need to bring anything for my dog's swim?
Just your dog and a towel! We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. We also have a drying area on site so your dog can dry off before the journey home to Quernmore.
Are there any dogs you can't accept?
We welcome all breeds and ages from 12 weeks. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Dogs with open wounds, infectious conditions, or severe uncontrolled aggression may need to wait or have a vet consultation first.
Can my dog swim after eating?
We recommend waiting at least an hour after feeding before swimming — just like humans. This helps prevent discomfort and allows your dog to get the most from their session.
How deep is the pool?
Our pool has adjustable depths to suit every size of dog, from toy breeds to giant breeds. Dogs enter via a gradual ramp, so they're always in control of how deep they go.
Is there parking at the pool?
Yes — free parking right by the entrance at Pompian Brow Farm, Bretherton, PR26 9AQ. Easy access from Quernmore.
Do you accept dogs with disabilities?
Yes — we welcome dogs with physical disabilities, amputations, and mobility challenges. Swimming is often the best exercise for these dogs because water supports their body and allows free movement.
Can I buy a package of sessions?
Yes — we offer multi-session packages at a discount. Ask us when you book or call 07359 881320 for current offers. Regular swimmers from Quernmore often find packages the best value.
