Ramsbottom's Nearest Dog Swimming Pool
Forget cold rivers and muddy ponds. Ramsbottom dog owners are choosing our heated indoor pool for safe, hygienic, and genuinely enjoyable swimming sessions all year round.
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
What Most Ramsbottom Dog Owners Don't Realise
Ageing Without Support
Senior dogs in Ramsbottom deserve better than shortened walks and a life on the sofa. Swimming keeps them mobile, engaged, and comfortable.
Weight Creeping Up
Over half of UK dogs are overweight. If your dog's waistline has disappeared, swimming burns 5x more calories than walking — with zero joint impact.
Post-Surgery Blues
Recovering dogs need to rebuild muscle, but too much walking risks re-injury. Swimming is the vet-recommended solution.
Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

WE HEAR YOU
Your Questions, Answered
"What if my dog can't swim at all?"
Many dogs who visit us have never swum before — that's perfectly fine. We use life jackets, gradual ramp entry, and gentle encouragement. Swimming is a natural instinct for most dogs; they just need the right introduction.
"How does this compare to a vet hydrotherapy centre?"
Our sessions are £35-40 compared to £50-80+ at vet hydrotherapy centres. Our pool is the same quality — heated, filtered, purpose-built. For dogs needing rehabilitation, we're happy to work alongside your vet.
"What ages of dog do you accept?"
From 12-week-old puppies (after second vaccination) to senior dogs of any age. We adjust every session to your dog's ability. Some of our most enthusiastic swimmers are well into their teens!
"Is it really better than outdoor swimming?"
Night and day. Our pool is heated to 28–32°C, filtered and treated for hygiene, has no currents or hidden hazards, and is available all year round regardless of weather. Plus it's completely private — no other dogs to stress yours.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Your Ramsbottom Swimming Questions, Answered
Do you have changing facilities?
We have a drying area for dogs and space for you to change if you've been in the pool during an Owner In Pool session. We also have towels available.
What if my dog is nervous about water?
We specialise in nervous swimmers. Our gentle ramp lets dogs walk in at their own pace, the warm water is inviting rather than shocking, and our team has helped hundreds of first-timers. Most dogs swim confidently by session one or two.
Do I need to bring anything for my dog's swim?
Just your dog and a towel! We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. We also have a drying area on site so your dog can dry off before the journey home to Ramsbottom.
Is the pool suitable for puppies from Ramsbottom?
Yes! We accept puppies from 12 weeks old, after their second vaccination. Our gentle ramp entry and warm water make it the perfect environment for a puppy's first swim.
Will my dog be the only one in the pool?
Yes. Every session is fully private. Your Ramsbottom dog never meets another dog during their swim, which is why we're a popular choice for reactive or anxious dogs.
Is swimming better than walking for dogs?
Swimming burns approximately 5 times more calories than walking and builds muscle 15 times more efficiently — all with zero joint impact. It's particularly beneficial for overweight, arthritic, or recovering dogs.
Is there anything to do near the pool while we're in Ramsbottom?
We're rurally placed near Bury, with quiet lanes and farmland walks within a few minutes. Some owners turn a session into a half-day out with their dog.
