COMMON CONCERNS

Recognise These Signs in Your Scarisbrick Dog?

No Social Swimming Options

Finding controlled, supervised swimming for dogs near Scarisbrick is difficult. Our purpose-built facility fills that gap perfectly.

Behavioural Problems at Home

Chewing, barking, digging — these are often signs of under-exercise. Dogs from Scarisbrick who swim regularly are calmer and better behaved.

GOOD TO KNOW

Your Questions, Answered

"What if my dog can't swim at all?"

Many dogs who visit us have never swum before — that's perfectly fine. We use life jackets, gradual ramp entry, and gentle encouragement. Swimming is a natural instinct for most dogs; they just need the right introduction.

"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"

It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.

"What if my dog has health issues?"

We cater for all conditions — arthritis, hip dysplasia, obesity, post-surgery recovery, and more. We'll ask about your dog's health before their first session and tailor everything accordingly. We welcome vet referrals too.

"How much does it cost?"

Sessions start from just £35 for Owner In Pool and Group Classes, and £40 for Swim Coach and Weighty Woofers. Compare that to a vet hydrotherapy session at £50–80+ and you're getting outstanding value.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Practical Answers for Scarisbrick Dog Owners

What are your opening hours?

We're open 7 days a week, 9am–8pm. Evening and weekend slots are available so Scarisbrick dog owners can fit sessions around work and family.

How warm is the pool?

Our pool is heated to between 28°C and 32°C — warmer than most human swimming pools. This temperature is ideal for dogs of all ages, from puppies to seniors.

How often should my dog swim?

For general fitness, once a week is brilliant. For weight loss or rehabilitation, twice a week is recommended. Even fortnightly sessions make a noticeable difference.

Is swimming better than walking for dogs?

Swimming burns approximately 5 times more calories than walking and builds muscle 15 times more efficiently — all with zero joint impact. It's particularly beneficial for overweight, arthritic, or recovering dogs.

What are the health benefits of dog swimming?

Swimming provides cardiovascular fitness, muscle building, weight management, joint rehabilitation, mental stimulation, and improved range of motion — all with zero impact on joints. It's the most complete exercise available for dogs.

Is Scarisbrick actually closer than the next nearest pool?

From most Scarisbrick postcodes you're around 15 minutes to us via the A570. The next nearest comparable heated dog pool is materially further — and rarely as quiet or as private.

Do you accept dogs with disabilities?

Yes — we welcome dogs with physical disabilities, amputations, and mobility challenges. Swimming is often the best exercise for these dogs because water supports their body and allows free movement.
