COMMON CONCERNS

Why Cowpe Walks Alone Aren't Enough Anymore

Nowhere Safe to Swim

Rivers and lakes near Cowpe can be dangerous — strong currents, blue-green algae, hidden debris. Your dog deserves a safe, controlled environment.

Limited Off-Lead Space

Not every Cowpe dog has access to safe off-lead fields. Swimming provides intensive exercise in a secure, enclosed environment.

No Social Swimming Options

Finding controlled, supervised swimming for dogs near Cowpe is difficult. Our purpose-built facility fills that gap perfectly.

Expensive vet bills and medication only manage symptoms. Swimming addresses the root cause.

GOOD TO KNOW

What to Know Before Your First Visit From Cowpe

"What ages of dog do you accept?"

From 12-week-old puppies (after second vaccination) to senior dogs of any age. We adjust every session to your dog's ability. Some of our most enthusiastic swimmers are well into their teens!

"Is it suitable for rescue dogs?"

We've helped dozens of rescue dogs build water confidence. Our private, calm environment is ideal for dogs who may be nervous or have unknown histories. We go at their pace, with patience and kindness.

"What do I need to bring?"

Just your dog and a towel. If you're doing Owner In Pool, bring swimwear too. We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. Free parking means you don't even need change for a meter.

"What if my dog doesn't like it?"

In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions From Cowpe Owners

Can I watch my dog swim?

Absolutely. You can watch from poolside during Swim Coach sessions, or jump in yourself during Owner In Pool sessions. Many Cowpe owners love watching their dog's progress from week to week.

What should I bring for my dog's first swim?

Just your dog and a towel — we supply everything else including life jackets and toys. If you're joining in an Owner In Pool session, bring swimwear too. We have a drying area on site.

What happens if my dog doesn't want to swim?

No dog is ever forced into the water. If your dog isn't ready, we let them explore poolside and build confidence at their own pace. Most dogs swim happily within their first or second visit.

How far is West Lancs K9 Splash from Cowpe?

We're approximately 30 minutes by car from Cowpe. Free parking is available on site at Pompian Brow Farm, PR26 9AQ.

Are there any dogs you can't accept?

We welcome all breeds and ages from 12 weeks. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Dogs with open wounds, infectious conditions, or severe uncontrolled aggression may need to wait or have a vet consultation first.

How deep is the pool?

Our pool has adjustable depths to suit every size of dog, from toy breeds to giant breeds. Dogs enter via a gradual ramp, so they're always in control of how deep they go.

Is the pool hygienic?

Our pool water is continuously filtered and treated to the highest standards. We maintain strict hygiene protocols and the water is crystal-clear at all times. It's far cleaner than any river, lake, or outdoor pool.
