COMMON CONCERNS

What Most Cowpe Dog Owners Don't Realise

Ageing Without Support

Senior dogs in Cowpe deserve better than shortened walks and a life on the sofa. Swimming keeps them mobile, engaged, and comfortable.

Bored & Under-Exercised

A tired dog is a happy dog. If your Cowpe pup is destructive, anxious, or pulling on walks, they're probably not getting enough exercise.

Weight Creeping Up

Over half of UK dogs are overweight. If your dog's waistline has disappeared, swimming burns 5x more calories than walking — with zero joint impact.

Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

FOR COWPE DOGS

What a Typical Session Looks Like for a Cowpe Dog

You arrive at our Bretherton site after a 30-minute drive from Cowpe, park metres from the pool door, and we'll meet you and your dog at reception. New dogs get a short, calm introduction to the pool environment before anything else happens.

Once your dog is comfortable, we walk them down the gentle ramp into 28–32°C water. The full 30 minutes belongs to your dog — no shared sessions, no clock-watching. We finish with a towel-off, a debrief, and you're on your way.

Expert Supervision

Every session is supervised by our experienced team who know dogs, understand behaviour, and prioritise safety.

Completely Private Sessions

No crowded pools, no stressed dogs — just your dog getting our full attention in a calm, controlled environment.

All Breeds Welcome

WE HEAR YOU

Your Questions, Answered

"What if my dog is scared of water?"

We specialise in nervous swimmers. Our gentle ramp entry lets dogs walk in at their own pace, the warm water is inviting rather than shocking, and our experienced team has helped hundreds of first-timers. Most dogs are swimming happily by the end of session one.

"Do you offer discounts for regular swimmers from Cowpe?"

Yes — we offer multi-session packages at a discount for regular swimmers. Ask about our package deals when you book. Many Cowpe dog owners find monthly packages the best value.

"Can my dog swim if they're on medication?"

Usually yes — but always mention any medication when booking. Some medications may need timing adjustments around swimming. We'll check with you and advise accordingly.

"Can I get in the pool with my dog?"

Yes! Our Owner In Pool sessions let you swim alongside your dog. It's a bonding experience like no other. We provide everything you need — just bring your swimwear and a towel.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Common Questions About Dog Swimming Near Cowpe

How long is each swimming session?

Sessions are 30 minutes of pool time. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first visit so we can complete a quick health assessment.

What are your opening hours?

We're open 7 days a week, 9am–8pm. Evening and weekend slots are available so Cowpe dog owners can fit sessions around work and family.

How does the pricing work?

Owner In Pool and Group Classes are £35 per 30-minute session. Swim Coach and Weighty Woofers are £40. No membership fees, no contracts — just book when you want.

How deep is the pool?

Our pool has adjustable depths to suit every size of dog, from toy breeds to giant breeds. Dogs enter via a gradual ramp, so they're always in control of how deep they go.

What should I bring for my dog's first swim?

Just your dog and a towel — we supply everything else including life jackets and toys. If you're joining in an Owner In Pool session, bring swimwear too. We have a drying area on site.

What happens if my dog doesn't want to swim?

No dog is ever forced into the water. If your dog isn't ready, we let them explore poolside and build confidence at their own pace. Most dogs swim happily within their first or second visit.

Are there any health conditions that prevent swimming?

Dogs with open wounds, active skin infections, untreated ear infections, or uncontrolled seizures should not swim until cleared by a vet. We're happy to advise if you're unsure about your dog's suitability.
