What a Typical Session Looks Like for a Water Dog
You arrive at our Bretherton site after a 30-minute drive from Water, park metres from the pool door, and we'll meet you and your dog at reception. New dogs get a short, calm introduction to the pool environment before anything else happens.
Once your dog is comfortable, we walk them down the gentle ramp into 28–32°C water. The full 30 minutes belongs to your dog — no shared sessions, no clock-watching. We finish with a towel-off, a debrief, and you're on your way.

"What if my dog doesn't like it?"
In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.
"Is the water clean and safe?"
Our water is continuously filtered and treated to exceed hygiene standards. It's crystal-clear at all times — far cleaner and safer than any river, lake, or outdoor dog pool you'll find near Water.
"What do I need to bring?"
Just your dog and a towel. If you're doing Owner In Pool, bring swimwear too. We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. Free parking means you don't even need change for a meter.
"Do you offer discounts for regular swimmers from Water?"
Yes — we offer multi-session packages at a discount for regular swimmers. Ask about our package deals when you book. Many Water dog owners find monthly packages the best value.

Your Water Swimming Questions, Answered
How wet will my car be on the way back to Water?
Hardly at all. We have a dedicated drying area on site and most dogs are touch-dry before they leave. Bring a towel for the back seat just in case.
Can my dog swim if they've been neutered recently?
We recommend waiting at least 14 days after suture removal and getting the all-clear from your vet before swimming. The wound must be fully healed before entering the pool.
Are there any health conditions that prevent swimming?
Dogs with open wounds, active skin infections, untreated ear infections, or uncontrolled seizures should not swim until cleared by a vet. We're happy to advise if you're unsure about your dog's suitability.
Do you offer group sessions for dogs from Water?
Yes! Our Group Classes at £35 per session are great for socialised dogs. You can bring up to 4 dogs in an Owner In Pool session too — perfect for multi-dog households in Water.
Is the drive from Water worth it?
At just 30 minutes, most Water dog owners tell us the drive is nothing compared to the results. Free parking, a 30-minute session, and a happy, tired dog on the way home.
What happens if my dog doesn't want to swim?
No dog is ever forced into the water. If your dog isn't ready, we let them explore poolside and build confidence at their own pace. Most dogs swim happily within their first or second visit.
What are your opening hours?
We're open 7 days a week, 9am–8pm. Evening and weekend slots are available so Water dog owners can fit sessions around work and family.
