THE PROBLEM

The Daily Reality for Brierfield Dogs Without Swimming

Breed-Specific Exercise Needs

Working breeds, sporting dogs, and high-energy breeds in Brierfield need more than standard walks. Swimming provides the intensity they crave.

Bored & Under-Exercised

A tired dog is a happy dog. If your Brierfield pup is destructive, anxious, or pulling on walks, they're probably not getting enough exercise.

Weight Creeping Up

Over half of UK dogs are overweight. If your dog's waistline has disappeared, swimming burns 5x more calories than walking — with zero joint impact.

Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions Brierfield Dog Owners Ask

"What do I need to bring?"

Just your dog and a towel. If you're doing Owner In Pool, bring swimwear too. We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. Free parking means you don't even need change for a meter.

"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"

It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.

"Is the pool big enough for large breeds?"

Absolutely. We welcome everything from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. The pool has adjustable depths and ample space for even the largest breeds to swim comfortably.

"What if my dog has health issues?"

We cater for all conditions — arthritis, hip dysplasia, obesity, post-surgery recovery, and more. We'll ask about your dog's health before their first session and tailor everything accordingly. We welcome vet referrals too.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the health benefits of dog swimming?

Swimming provides cardiovascular fitness, muscle building, weight management, joint rehabilitation, mental stimulation, and improved range of motion — all with zero impact on joints. It's the most complete exercise available for dogs.

How far is West Lancs K9 Splash from Brierfield?

We're approximately 35 minutes by car from Brierfield. Free parking is available on site at Pompian Brow Farm, PR26 9AQ.

How wet will my car be on the way back to Brierfield?

Hardly at all. We have a dedicated drying area on site and most dogs are touch-dry before they leave. Bring a towel for the back seat just in case.

Do you cater for older dogs from Brierfield?

Older dogs often benefit the most from swimming. The warm water eases stiff joints and the buoyancy means they can exercise without pain. We've had dogs well into their teens swimming with us regularly.

Is swimming suitable for all dog breeds?

Yes — from tiny Chihuahuas to giant Great Danes, we cater for every breed. We adjust pool depth and use life jackets for brachycephalic breeds like French Bulldogs and Pugs.

What are your opening hours?

We're open 7 days a week, 9am–8pm. Evening and weekend slots are available so Brierfield dog owners can fit sessions around work and family.

Can my dog swim if they've been neutered recently?

We recommend waiting at least 14 days after suture removal and getting the all-clear from your vet before swimming. The wound must be fully healed before entering the pool.
