RECOGNISE THE SIGNS?
The Issues Haighton Dog Owners Talk to Us About
Cold Weather Stops Play
When Haighton weather turns cold and wet, outdoor exercise drops off. Our heated indoor pool means fitness never stops.
Behavioural Problems at Home
Chewing, barking, digging — these are often signs of under-exercise. Dogs from Haighton who swim regularly are calmer and better behaved.
Post-Surgery Blues
Recovering dogs need to rebuild muscle, but too much walking risks re-injury. Swimming is the vet-recommended solution.
Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

WHAT SETS US APART
Why Haighton Dog Owners Are Switching to Indoor Swimming
Rivers and lakes near Haighton might look inviting, but they carry real risks — blue-green algae, strong currents, sharp debris, and unpredictable water temperatures. Our purpose-built pool eliminates every one of these dangers while providing a better workout.
At 28–32°C, our pool water is therapeutic as well as enjoyable. Dogs exercise harder, recover faster, and genuinely love coming back. That's why families from Haighton make our pool part of their regular routine.
Gentle Ramp Entry
Dogs enter via a gradual ramp — no jumping required. Perfect for nervous first-timers and dogs with mobility issues.
Zero Joint Impact
Water supports 90% of body weight, making swimming the safest form of exercise for dogs of all ages and conditions.
All Breeds Welcome
From tiny Chihuahuas to giant Great Danes, we cater for every breed with adjustable depths and gentle ramp entry.

YOUR QUESTIONS
Before You Visit — Your Questions Answered
"Can my dog swim if they're on medication?"
Usually yes — but always mention any medication when booking. Some medications may need timing adjustments around swimming. We'll check with you and advise accordingly.
"How do I know which session type is right?"
Owner In Pool if you want to swim with your dog. Group Classes for social, confident dogs. Swim Coach for nervous dogs, rehabilitation, or therapeutic sessions. Weighty Woofers for weight management. We're happy to recommend — just ask.
"What do I need to bring?"
Just your dog and a towel. If you're doing Owner In Pool, bring swimwear too. We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. Free parking means you don't even need change for a meter.
"What if my dog has health issues?"
We cater for all conditions — arthritis, hip dysplasia, obesity, post-surgery recovery, and more. We'll ask about your dog's health before their first session and tailor everything accordingly. We welcome vet referrals too.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Got Questions? We've Got Answers
What's the difference between Swim Coach and Owner In Pool?
In Owner In Pool sessions, you get in the water with your dog. In Swim Coach sessions, one of our trained team members is in the pool guiding your dog — ideal for rehabilitation, nervous dogs, or when you'd rather watch from poolside.
Do you accept dogs with disabilities?
Yes — we welcome dogs with physical disabilities, amputations, and mobility challenges. Swimming is often the best exercise for these dogs because water supports their body and allows free movement.
Can my dog swim after eating?
We recommend waiting at least an hour after feeding before swimming — just like humans. This helps prevent discomfort and allows your dog to get the most from their session.
Is the pool chlorinated?
We use a professional water treatment system that keeps the water crystal-clear and hygienic without harsh chemical smells. Our system is far gentler on dogs' skin and eyes than traditional chlorinated pools.
What happens during the first session?
We'll do a quick health chat about your dog's breed, age, and any conditions. Then we introduce them to the pool gradually via the ramp. First-timers get extra settling-in time. Most dogs are swimming happily within minutes.
Is swimming suitable for all dog breeds?
Yes — from tiny Chihuahuas to giant Great Danes, we cater for every breed. We adjust pool depth and use life jackets for brachycephalic breeds like French Bulldogs and Pugs.
Are there any dogs you can't accept?
We welcome all breeds and ages from 12 weeks. Dogs must be up to date on vaccinations. Dogs with open wounds, infectious conditions, or severe uncontrolled aggression may need to wait or have a vet consultation first.
