WHY DOGS NEED MORE

Sound Familiar? Heath Charnock Dogs Deserve Better

Limited Off-Lead Space

Not every Heath Charnock dog has access to safe off-lead fields. Swimming provides intensive exercise in a secure, enclosed environment.

Post-Surgery Blues

Recovering dogs need to rebuild muscle, but too much walking risks re-injury. Swimming is the vet-recommended solution.

No Social Swimming Options

Finding controlled, supervised swimming for dogs near Heath Charnock is difficult. Our purpose-built facility fills that gap perfectly.

Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

WE HEAR YOU

Common Questions From Heath Charnock

"What if my dog can't swim at all?"

Many dogs who visit us have never swum before — that's perfectly fine. We use life jackets, gradual ramp entry, and gentle encouragement. Swimming is a natural instinct for most dogs; they just need the right introduction.

"What do I need to bring?"

Just your dog and a towel. If you're doing Owner In Pool, bring swimwear too. We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. Free parking means you don't even need change for a meter.

"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"

It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.

"What if my dog doesn't like it?"

In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything You Need to Know

What's the difference between Swim Coach and Owner In Pool?

In Owner In Pool sessions, you get in the water with your dog. In Swim Coach sessions, one of our trained team members is in the pool guiding your dog — ideal for rehabilitation, nervous dogs, or when you'd rather watch from poolside.

How long is each swimming session?

Sessions are 30 minutes of pool time. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early for your first visit so we can complete a quick health assessment.

Do you have experience with large breeds?

We regularly swim Great Danes, Newfoundlands, Irish Wolfhounds, and other giant breeds. Our pool is designed to accommodate dogs of all sizes with plenty of room to move.

Is Heath Charnock actually closer than the next nearest pool?

From most Heath Charnock postcodes you're around 20 minutes to us via the A6. The next nearest comparable heated dog pool is materially further — and rarely as quiet or as private.

What happens during the first session?

We'll do a quick health chat about your dog's breed, age, and any conditions. Then we introduce them to the pool gradually via the ramp. First-timers get extra settling-in time. Most dogs are swimming happily within minutes.

Is there parking at the pool?

Yes — free parking right by the entrance at Pompian Brow Farm, Bretherton, PR26 9AQ. Easy access from Heath Charnock.

Can aggressive dogs swim?

Every session is completely private — your dog will never encounter other dogs. If your dog is reactive or anxious around other animals, our private sessions are the perfect solution.
