COMMON CONCERNS
Hidden Limits of Exercise for Balderstone Dogs
Post-Surgery Blues
Recovering dogs need to rebuild muscle, but too much walking risks re-injury. Swimming is the vet-recommended solution.
Nowhere Safe to Swim
Rivers and lakes near Balderstone can be dangerous — strong currents, blue-green algae, hidden debris. Your dog deserves a safe, controlled environment.
Behavioural Problems at Home
Chewing, barking, digging — these are often signs of under-exercise. Dogs from Balderstone who swim regularly are calmer and better behaved.
Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

GOOD TO KNOW
Before You Visit — Your Questions Answered
"Can I get in the pool with my dog?"
Yes! Our Owner In Pool sessions let you swim alongside your dog. It's a bonding experience like no other. We provide everything you need — just bring your swimwear and a towel.
"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"
It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.
"Is the water clean and safe?"
Our water is continuously filtered and treated to exceed hygiene standards. It's crystal-clear at all times — far cleaner and safer than any river, lake, or outdoor dog pool you'll find near Balderstone.
"What if my dog doesn't like it?"
In our experience, the vast majority of dogs take to our warm pool quickly. We never force dogs into the water — they enter at their own pace via a gentle ramp. The warm temperature makes it inviting rather than intimidating.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Practical Answers for Balderstone Dog Owners
What if my dog is nervous about water?
We specialise in nervous swimmers. Our gentle ramp lets dogs walk in at their own pace, the warm water is inviting rather than shocking, and our team has helped hundreds of first-timers. Most dogs swim confidently by session one or two.
Can I bring two dogs from the same household?
Yes — up to four dogs from the same household in an Owner In Pool session. Multi-dog Balderstone families often find this the most cost-effective way to swim regularly.
What should I bring for my dog's first swim?
Just your dog and a towel — we supply everything else including life jackets and toys. If you're joining in an Owner In Pool session, bring swimwear too. We have a drying area on site.
What's the best time of day to swim from Balderstone?
Quietest slots tend to be weekday mornings. Evenings and weekends book up fastest — Balderstone owners working 9-to-5 should book 1-2 weeks ahead for those.
Do you have changing facilities?
We have a drying area for dogs and space for you to change if you've been in the pool during an Owner In Pool session. We also have towels available.
Is the pool available for birthday parties or special occasions?
We love celebrating milestones! Contact us about special occasion bookings. Many Balderstone dog owners book celebration swims for birthdays or adoption anniversaries.
Can my dog swim if they've been neutered recently?
We recommend waiting at least 14 days after suture removal and getting the all-clear from your vet before swimming. The wound must be fully healed before entering the pool.
