THE PROBLEM
Recognise These Signs in Your Whalley Dog?
No Social Swimming Options

Post-Surgery Blues
Recovering dogs need to rebuild muscle, but too much walking risks re-injury. Swimming is the vet-recommended solution.
Ageing Without Support
Senior dogs in Whalley deserve better than shortened walks and a life on the sofa. Swimming keeps them mobile, engaged, and comfortable.
Sound familiar? Swimming solves all of these — safely and enjoyably.

WHY DOG OWNERS VISIT US
What Whalley Dog Owners Come to Us For
Breed-Specific Exercise
Water breeds get the swimming they were designed for. Non-swimmers get the support and guidance to enjoy it safely.
Separation Anxiety Support
A tired dog is a calmer dog. Swimming provides the intensity needed to help dogs with anxiety feel more relaxed at home.
Post-Walk Cool Down
Some owners combine a walk in the countryside with a swim session — the ultimate exercise day for their dog.
A Proper Workout for High-Energy Dogs
Walks aren't enough for some breeds. Swimming burns 5x the calories in half the time — your dog comes home genuinely tired.
Recovery From Illness
Dogs recovering from illness often lose muscle and fitness. Gentle swimming rebuilds strength safely without overexertion.
A Short Drive From Whalley for a Big Impact

WE HEAR YOU
Your Questions, Answered
"What happens if my dog has an accident in the pool?"
It happens and it's not a problem! Our filtration system handles it quickly and we're well prepared. We ask that dogs are walked before sessions and we recommend not feeding them within 2 hours of swimming.
"Is the pool big enough for large breeds?"
Absolutely. We welcome everything from Chihuahuas to Great Danes. The pool has adjustable depths and ample space for even the largest breeds to swim comfortably.
"Is the water clean and safe?"
Our water is continuously filtered and treated to exceed hygiene standards. It's crystal-clear at all times — far cleaner and safer than any river, lake, or outdoor dog pool you'll find near Whalley.
"Is one session enough to see results?"
Most dogs show visible improvement in mood and energy after just one session. For therapeutic or weight-loss goals, we recommend weekly sessions for 6–8 weeks to see transformative results.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Whalley Dog Swimming — Your Questions Answered
Do you do gift vouchers for dog owners in Whalley?
Yes. Vouchers are a popular present for Whalley dog owners — birthdays, Christmas, or a new puppy in the family. Call 07359 881320 to arrange one.
Do I need to bring anything for my dog's swim?
Just your dog and a towel! We provide life jackets, toys, and everything else needed. We also have a drying area on site so your dog can dry off before the journey home to Whalley.
Do you cater for older dogs from Whalley?
Older dogs often benefit the most from swimming. The warm water eases stiff joints and the buoyancy means they can exercise without pain. We've had dogs well into their teens swimming with us regularly.
Is swimming better than walking for dogs?
Swimming burns approximately 5 times more calories than walking and builds muscle 15 times more efficiently — all with zero joint impact. It's particularly beneficial for overweight, arthritic, or recovering dogs.
How do regular swimmers from Whalley schedule their visits?
Most regular swimmers from Whalley book a standing weekly or fortnightly slot. This ensures they get their preferred day and time. We're flexible with rescheduling when life gets in the way.
Can my dog swim if they've been neutered recently?
We recommend waiting at least 14 days after suture removal and getting the all-clear from your vet before swimming. The wound must be fully healed before entering the pool.
Are there any health conditions that prevent swimming?
Dogs with open wounds, active skin infections, untreated ear infections, or uncontrolled seizures should not swim until cleared by a vet. We're happy to advise if you're unsure about your dog's suitability.
